Overview & Objectives
The School of Pastoral Ministry exists to equip Lay members and In-service staff of the Diocese with pastoral skills, perspectives and biblical underpinnings, in areas that are not adequately covered by the parishes nor the seminaries.
Since 2004 the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) course has been offered by the Diocese to students at TTC, and has received good reviews for its effectiveness in equipping Anglicans – and many from other churches as well – for frontline pastoral ministry in a variety of contexts. More recently, the In-Service CPE (ISCPE) course was introduced in a format that allows those who are already serving in full-time ministry to participate. Henceforth CPE and ISCPE will be offered under the auspices of the School of Pastoral Ministry.
Other areas that SPM will be looking to provide training for in the near future include Prayer and Intercession, Chaplaincy ministry, and Deliverance and Inner Healing ministry.
