About Course
This course introduces students to the basic tenets of Anglicanism by covering our history, theology, liturgy, and polity. Each of those four loci will be expanded on with an emphasis on Singapore’s local context. This enables students to grasp both a fuller appreciation of Anglican heritage as well as its local expression. Such a design is meant to prepare students for ministry in the Diocese of Singapore by giving them a working understanding of things.
Purpose and approach:
1. Inform students about the History, Theology, Liturgy, and Polity (faith and order) of the Anglican Church;
2. Help students develop a reflective understanding of the above areas and relate them to our local parish contexts;
3. Inspire students with an appreciation for the strengths, resources, and contributions of the Anglican Church.
The course will run over 14 Fridays, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m., at Trinity Theological College, beginning 9 January to 8 May.
