The Former Prophets (DCBS Module 3)

The Former Prophets contains four historical books — Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings.  

Joshua

Instructor:  Revd Dr Joshua Sudharman

Revd Dr Joshua Sudharman is the Warden of St Peter’s Hall (SPH) in Trinity Theological College (TTC), as well as the Warden of Diocesan Training. He assumed this role from 1 July 2021, after serving as the Vicar of St John’s–St Margaret’s Church for 9 years. He did his first theological degree (Master of Divinity) in TTC, and his advanced degree (Doctor of Ministry) in Duke Divinity School (Duke University, USA). He is married to Faith and they have two daughters, Emmanuelle and Aletheia. He enjoys teaching the Word of God and seeing people deepen their worship of God and go ‘Wow!’  

Judges and 1 Samuel

Instructor:  Deaconess Grace Tan

Deaconess Grace Tan was a teacher by profession. She responded to God’s call in 1990 and retired in 2022 after more than 30 years in full-time ministry. She is a keen student of the Bible and passionate about doing and teaching the Word of God (Ezra 7:10) so that the Body of Christ is rooted in truth and righteousness. Grace had her theological training at Trinity Theological College, Singapore [Master of Divinity & Master of Theology(Old Testament)] and at the University of Oxford [Master of Studies (Hebrew Studies)].  

2 Samuel

Instructor:  Ms Veronica Wong

Veronica Wong worships at St Andrew’s Cathedral, serves as a worship leader in the Saturday Service Praise team, and is a cell group leader. She graduated from the Trinity Theological College, Singapore in 2014 with the Masters of Theological Studies. Veronica currently works in a local university specialising in admissions.  

1&2 Kings

Instructor:  Ms Bernice Gan

Bernice is the Director of Pastoral Care at Anglican Preschool Services. She holds an MDiv from Trinity Theological College, an MA (Applied Linguistics) from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a BA from Cornell University. She is a volunteer at Ethos Institute, a Christian think-tank. Prior to working in APS, she was a lecturer in NUS, a journalist and a youth pastor. She and her husband, Brian, are members of St Hilda’s Church and they have 4 sons.
